Top Resorts of Vietnam
The most famous resorts of Vietnam are located in the southern part of the country. Nha Trang, Mui Ne, and Phu Quoc are the most popular among tourists. In this part of Vietnam, the season lasts all year round, but with some nuances. For example, in Mui Ne, the rainiest time is September and the first half of October. In Nha Trang, the main issue is not the rain but typhoons, which are more likely between October and January. Most of the rainfall occurs from July to September and December. On Phu Quoc, the rainy season extends from April to October.

Resorts of Vietnam: Mui Ne
Mui Ne is a quiet and peaceful tourist destination with a well-developed entertainment infrastructure. In addition to its beautiful long beaches, you’ll find a wide variety of cafes, clothing stores, souvenir shops, restaurants serving world cuisines, bars, and clubs. There are numerous excursions to choose from—one-day and two-day trips, as well as half-day tours. However, keep in mind that the sea in Mui Ne is wavy during the winter season.
Mui Ne is also the hub for water sports. Here, you can learn kite surfing, windsurfing, and surfing. The resort gained popularity due to kite surfing enthusiasts. But don’t think that kite surfing is only for young athletes; people of all ages, from children as young as 10 to seniors up to 65, take lessons here. Your physical condition affects how fast you learn, but it doesn’t limit your ability to give it a try.
Traditionally, Mui Ne has a large number of Russian-speaking locals, and menus in cafes are often available in Russian.
Resorts of Vietnam: Nha Trang
Nha Trang also boasts a well-developed tourist scene, especially in the city center. However, the center is less green, noisier, and dustier than Mui Ne, except for the beachfront area. There are just as many excursions as in Mui Ne, with the addition of various water tours and diving opportunities. The sea in Nha Trang is calmer, with small or no waves.
Russian-speaking tour agents and cafes with Russian-language menus are also present in Nha Trang. However, unlike Mui Ne, where this is common, Nha Trang has more establishments catering to tourists speaking other languages.
Resorts of Vietnam: Da Lat
From both Mui Ne and Nha Trang, excursions are available to the mountain city of Da Lat, known for its many attractions, including waterfalls, the famous Crazy House hotel, and more. Since Da Lat doesn’t have a beach, tourists usually come here for 1-2 days to enjoy the sights and the stunning mountain views.
Resorts of Vietnam: Phu Quoc
Phu Quoc is home to the best sea in Vietnam—calm, turquoise waters, with pristine white sand. However, there are few entertainment options beyond the water park, and the cafe prices are higher than elsewhere.
Phu Quoc is also home to some of the most Instagrammable spots, featuring installations from the new Kazantip festival (Episode).
Resorts of Vietnam: Da Nang
In Central Vietnam, you can also enjoy a fantastic vacation. The beaches in Da Nang are magnificent. Nearby are the ancient, charming cities of Hue (with a large complex of historical monuments protected by UNESCO) and Hoi An (the entire old town is a UNESCO World Heritage site). The tourist season in Central Vietnam is quite long, but from October to February, strong typhoons and street flooding are possible.
There are very few Russian-speaking tourists in Da Nang, and few locals speak English, which is likely why the city is not very popular among foreign tourists, even though Da Nang’s beach and hotels are excellent. Close by is Bana Hills Park, a world-famous attraction, and on the Dragon Bridge, you can witness an incredible fire show on weekends.
Rainy periods in Da Nang can occur from July to January. However, like in Nha Trang, it’s not the brief rains that cause discomfort, but the typhoons, which are more frequent from October to January.
Resorts of Vietnam: Ha Long Ha Long bay
In northern Vietnam, you can visit the famous Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site. However, the swimming season here is short—from May to October. Rain is possible during this period (usually brief showers). We consider October the best month to visit Ha Long, as the sea is warm and there are minimal rainy days. Winter in northern Vietnam can be quite cool due to cold winds.
Northern Vietnam is rich in attractions worth visiting. Here you’ll find the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi, as well as the mountainous rice terraces and traditional villages of Sapa.
